These glasses were considered the workhorse glass in most bars and bistros throughout France in the 19th century. They were used for absinthe, as well as other drinks. They are among the smallest of absinthe glasses usually measuring approximately 6" (15 cm). The bistro glass is easily recognizable by its thick glass at the bottom of the cup and above the stem. This solid glass piece graduates upwards in to a natural dose mark. Because the glass is small in general, so is the dose (usually approximately 10 ml).
