The Wormwood Absinthe Spoon is by far our most desired spoon. It is also one of the most sought-after spoons by collectors of antique absinthe ware. The grille of the spoon features the grand wormwood plant, Artemisia absinthium (the key ingredient in absinthe). Woven through the wormwood plant is a banner which on the original spoons sometimes contained advertisement text. The bottom of the spoon contains a small ridged area that was originally used to break apart a piece of sugar from a sugar loaf (or clump), before sugar cubes were available. The spoon is an exact reproduction of the original 19th century design.

  • Measures 6.5" (16.5 cm) in length.
  • Stainless steel.
  • Will not tarnish.
  • Dishwasher safe.
  • Includes 10 sugar cubes (5 packets containing 2 cubes each).
  • Instructions, history of absinthe, and FAQ's included..

    Perfect 19th Century Spoon

Posted by Matthew on May 15th 2021

This beautiful spoon is sized perfectly small and lightweight to sit over the glass with a delicate representation of the fin de siecle design. The spoon allows the sugar to fall through the holes and slide into the glass well. Gorgeous in a glass for display too!

A great and well shaped spoon, you can fit 2 sugar cubes on this spoon, if you wish, the tip fits nicely into the bottom of the Pontarlier glass to stir the sugars and absinthe . A Perfect spoon.
