Lucid Absinthe Supérieure (124 proof / 62% ABV) is made in the 180-year-old Combier Distillery located in Saumur, France. Lucid is credited with being the first genuine absinthe (made with real Grande Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium)) to be legally available in the United States in over 95 years. The recipe was developed by distiller T.A. “Ted” Breaux. Breaux, a New Orleans, Louisiana native, is considered one of the very best absinthe distillers in the world, producing his famous Jade’s (Jade Liqueurs).
A Wonderful Elixir For All That Ails One...A Must Try. <LUCID>
Posted by Rich Katanich. Florida, U. S. A. on Feb 13th 2018
I was in Paris in the early ’90’s and Absinthe was still spoken in hushed tones. Or I did not know the ’right places’ to go.
Now it seems to be in the ’wild’ . I was surprised to see it's availability on the web and not even the Dark Web.
I read a few articles about preparation and consumption. I tried the bottle of LUCID, searching for the right combination
of Absinth/water and sugar. I'm glad I bought the spoon and sugar cubes. The spoon is a must.
My very first taste was, well, surprising. Quite different in all ways from any other liquor including Scotch. I overdid the sugar using two sugar cubes. Way too sweet. Next time I figured out my requirements for this elixir. One sugar and about 20 ml of h2o to 30ml
of the Absinth. It's strong but that's what I was looking for. I love this brand although I did not hallucinate the dreamy, gauzy females
I had hoped for. It's worth the try, and the experience. I'm still chasing the ghostly females and will report back when I do...
